Just an update real quick

Keep switching between 170 and 171. Still feel a lot chubbier these days though. I'm always surprised when my weight doesn't reflect everything I'm noticing. Maybe I'm just late with noticing? lol

Anyway, I just got a new computer and my best friend is in town from Cali! w00t! So I'm just sort of enjoying life and eating as much as I can..lol I'm still chugging olive oil.. directly from the bottle now.. ha I'm hardcore bitch.

I'm hoping to get to 172 soon so it will be time for measumrents again.

Other than that, fightning my depression/anxiety thing again. It's resulted in the house being a mess and me not having the laundry done. I think things could be worse. Latas.

Week 21, Day 7: Cookie Party

Well, I thought I'd go ahead and update on the cookie party I was concerned about. Nothing really happened. I'm sure they noticed I gained but no one said anything. Weird thing is, those girls are so skinny! So for the first time, I felt like the fat one ya know? And at one point I bumped into something because I misjudged my size through the doorway. *sigh* That happens A LOT actually. I'm so used to slipping through little spaces! But that doesnt' really happen anymore.



We made lots of cookies though, it was pretty fun. Good wine too... and my sweetie and I walked a block and got pizza for everyone. Plus, it was in a really cool neighborhood of Cleveland called Little Italy. It always feels just a little bit magical over there. I yikes. =)

Aside from that, I slowed down on my gaining because I felt like I was growing.. a lot and I got scared! lol Today I was back to 169 though. I swear the olive oil makes me grow but doesn't increase my actual weight as much. I won't know if that's true until I take my measurements again though, which I'll do when I hit 172.. which I'm feeling ready to do. I'm going to try and splurge the next few days.. and I have lots of days off coming up! Which should really help. =)

Also, my sweetie said she wants to gain with me over the holidays.. ha I don't know if she really will, but I do know she can't resist cookies at all! lol

Week 21, Day 2: Worry About Reactions

So tonight I'm going to a cookie party and I'm going to see at least 2 people who haven't seen me in months. I have to admit I just feel a little weird because they are probably going to notice that I put on about 30 lbs I would think.

I even saw my friend Maddi last night and I was telling her about how I'm gaining on purpose, and I mentioned how I look at before pictures and it's hard to even notice anything and she was like, "Oh no, you can definately tell. You look different." and I was like oh.. okay And my friend Denise said again that I look better and that I hold it well, so that was nice of her. =)

Oh well, I'm not ashamed so I just need to be confident. I gained weight. I have curves now. I'm sexy. Get over it. ha =)

169 again this morning. Still getting lots of olive oil.

Olive Oil: Not Just For Drinking

One of my friends gave me the idea to rub olive oil on my body too. They said you can pretty much absorb anything through your skin. I didn't realize how true that was until I thought about it. I mean, isn't that why things like nicotine patches work?

So I googled olive oil and check out this link. Basically, rubbing olive oil on you is very very good for you! Fascinating. I think I will start doing this. =)

Things I've Noticed Since Gaining

I've been meaning to make this post for awhile. I just want to keep track of things I notice cuz out of nowhere I sometimes realize things or notice things that have changed from my gaining and I dunno, it's kinda cool... most of the time anyway!

Things I've Noticed So Far:

1.) My hands have grown. My ring wouldn't fit on my ring finger anymore and I had to switch it to my pinky. It's also harder to bend my fingers all the way. I can feel new fat in the way! Also, veins used to show on the top of my hands sometimes and now they don't at all, which is nice. I just noticed this in the last week.

2.) My butt is bigger. Underwear is fitting differently and when I walk, it feels much different. Gotta say I like it though! One thing that might be kinda gross though, is I definitely sweat in my crack more now though.. ha

3.) My thighs are rubbing together when I walk. It gets sweatier in there now too.

4.) All of my old pants are too tight on me now..lol I have 2 new pairs of pants right now that I can wear comfortably.

5.) My arms are thicker too. There is new fat under my armpits and on my arm in the same area. Also, I used to have really athletic skinny arms and sometimes the viens would show there and definitely muscle definition, but now you don't ever see veins and they aren't as muscular. Oh, and when I bend them I can really tell! The crease is more defined and the new fat pushes off to the side.

That's all on that for now. =)

I was 168 this morning again. I swear it's the weirdest thing, because I can tell that I'm fatter without a doubt, but my weight stays the same or even goes down if I don't eat a lot. I guess this is how olive oil does it? Anyway, I didn't much the last couple days so I think I'm going to go for 3,500 again today with 1,500 of that being monounsaturated fat. I'll keep track of my calories in this entry.

Well, I've hit my second goal of being 170. Hard to believe I'm here! I guess this whole oil thing is working for gaining. I'm still anxious to see if my fat distribution is changing too. Guess we'll find out when I do my new measurements at 172. =)

Week 20, Day 4: I ate A LOT yesterday

Yah, so somehow I ended up eating 4,020 calories yesterday. That is probably the most in my whole life...lol

If I don't gain from these last 3 days I will be stunned.

12/10 - 3,350 calories
12/11 - 3,725 calories
12/12 - 4,020 calories
Amount to stay same weight: 1600 calories

Yah... so I basically overate 6295 calories. That should equal out to almost 2 lbs of gain. I was 169 this morning. 169.4 actually so I guess that's right on.

Can you believe I'm .6 lbs away from 170?



Calories today 12/13:
double black bean burger w/cheese & soymilk = 580 cal
straight olive oil = 480 (it really is kind of good once you get used to it)
Large Avacado w/fresh squeezed lemon juice and vinegar = 370 calories
Pop and skittles = 490 calories
len-chili soup w/feta = 290
1 pita with hummus = 465
1 serving tabouli = 130
straight olive oil = 240 calories
cereal = 220 calories

Week 20, Day 3: Got a new pound =)

Met my goal yesterday and well, I was 169 this morning! That's pretty exciting. I didn't even really eat much before bed so that's a good sign. We'll see if it sticks to tomorrow.

I Feel Like I'm Gaining
I also checked some measurements yesterday because I could swear I felt some gaining even though my body wasn't reflecting it. Like seriously, my hands are chubbier. I am really noticing. And my arms too. Like when I bend my arm there's some fat coming out of the side and the crease looks much more defined and my butt is feeling a lot bigger too. Plus, my girlfriend said my booty looked bigger and she noticed love handles on me for the first time yesterday. Just all these signs!

Quick measurements show some growth from my new diet (so far)!
I figured, maybe the olive oil is doing what it's supposed to and turning into subcutaneous fat and going other places instead of my waist and belly? Well, even though the measurements I took are only ONE WEEK since last time. I showed that I LOST a 1/2" on my waist, gained 1/4" on my belly (I am noticing more softness on the sides), 1/2" on my booty, and 3/4" new on my thigh.. which on a thigh.. that's a lot! ESPECIALLY in a week. I don't know if my measurements are right on, but it certainly seems like this new diet is working. We won't know for sure until a lot more time passes though.

About Good/Soft Fat
But my sweetie and I were talking about monounsaturated fat and stuff and she made a good point. She understands "good fat" which is basically monounsaturated fat like olive oil to be fat that doesn't turn solid at room temperture, while "bad fat" like butter for exmpale and saturated fats are thicker and harder fats. And that makes sense cuz I was reading about how oils turn into the "softer fat" and that's why it ends up stored just under the skin and goes to hips, and butt, and arms and pretty much all over, while the other "hard fat" is the kind that stores itself among your organs, which increases risk for a lot of bad stuff.

Anyway, I'm excited. It seems to be working so far. I just drank the last of my peanut oil on my lunch, so I have to go buy some more after work today. hee =) Yes, I know how silly I am.

Week 20, Day 2: Almost did it, let's try again

Well, I had a goal and I failed! But not by much at least. I ate 3,350 calories so I was barely short of my goal... and 1,320 of that was monounsaturated fat so that's good.. definately 40%. So I was really close. Weird that I was still 168 this morning though.

I'm totally pumped to try again today though. Same goal: 3600 calories, 40% monounsaturated fat... I'll probably have to go to the store and get more olive oil.. extra virgin this time.

What I'm Noticing Lately
I feel like my body is getting softer and expanding but my weight isn't going up. I don't know if that's true or what, but I know for sure that I couldn't get my ring on for the first time. That kinda sucks, but it's kinda awesome? I mean, it used to be so loose it fell off all the time! I'm also noticing that that new pair of bigger jeans I bought FITS now. Ummm they were too big when I bought them. I haven't tried on my old jeans in awhile... maybe I should see if I can even get in them anymore.

But anyway, keeping track of my calories again today, Thursday Dec 11th:

Over 3,600 this time! Wish I did a lil better on monosat fat, but that's okay.. still good. Now... will I weigh more in the morning? I swear I still feel myself expanding.. i'm feeling it in my butt and my hands. It's weird. Is it real or am I imaging it?

I'm off today and so I haven't showered and I'm still in my PJ's past noon, heh, but I shot some pics to show my progress. I'm feeling kinda chubby. I yikes =)

Week 20, Day 1: Time to Eat!!

I'm setting a goal for myself today on calories. I'm thinking it's going to be easy considering I can just drink olive oil if I fall short. ha!

I need 1,600 calories a day to maintain my weight. So I'm going to eat 2,000 more than that today. That should give me a gain of 4/7 of a pound in one day. That's pretty good for one day! So I'm going to give that a shot. 3,600 is my goal. =) That's seriously a lot for me.

Oh, and the second part of my goal is for 40% or 1,440 of the calories to be monounsaturated fat. I think I can do it. I'm just going to continually update what I eat today.

So here we go!

Breakfast
Hash Browns w/cheese, veggies & peanut oil = 590 cal
Egg Nog, 1 cup = 340 cal

Supplement
Straight Olive Oil, 1/4 cup = 480 cal

Week 19, Day 7: Here We Go aGain... har

I'm really feeling ready to gain again.

I ordered my fav indian food and ate as much as I could for lunch. Then I drank about 600 calories of olive oil. So far my body has been handling the oil great! I'm hoping that I'm absorbing it nicely but probably won't know for sure for awhile...

I was 167 again this morning which is good. I'm at a plateau which usually happens right before a spike.. and considering I probably had about 2,000 calories for lunch and I only need 1,600 calories in an entire day to maintain my weight, I forsee a gain in the near future. =)

Also, strangely, I'm starting to notice my thighs rubbing together a little when I walk. Weird. I like it though!

Week 19, Day 6

Well, I'm getting pretty good at drinking olive oil.. ha I can't think of a better way to get monounsaturated fat. I just pour a little in a spoon.. sip it in my mouth.. swallow... repeat. At first I was grossed out and almost gagged and now I'm kinda liking how it tastes. I'm going to keep doing more. I'm tempted to do like 1,000 calories at once of just olive oil! I don't know if that would be healthy, probably.. but I'm just so curious if anything would happen I guess?



I haven't been focusing on gaining too much lately, but I have been focusing on this shift in my diet to lower carbs and higher monounsaturated fats.. and the carbs I am eating are better carbs too... like I'm cutting down candy and pop big time, but still eating some whole grain pasta, whole grain rice, and wheat bread. Drinking more soymilk too and drinking olive oil daily.. ha

I started this switch a week ago tomorrow. I'm hoping that after a couple months there might be some change in my fat distribution. I know other factors are way stronger but it should be interesting to see if it really has an effect. =)

Week 19, Day 4: Booty pic! heh

I never do this but I love this pic sooo might as well.



My butt is definately growing. I don't think my measurements of it are really reflecting all the growth because where I really feel it and notice it is more towards my thighs, and I measure at the middle point. Even still, I've expanded over 3 inches at the middle point. You can see my thighs are filling in too and even my fingers look chubbier! (they are, definately..I love them so much more!)

ummmmmm other than that... 167 again this morning. That's good. Don't want to go too fast and I'm definitely gaining still. Doing good eating less carbs and lots of monounsaturated fats too. I really hope we see a difference from that in a few weeks. I hope I hope I hope... if not, at least it's probably healthier.

Also, been getting depressed again lately. I'm such a rollercoaster I swear.

162 to 167 lb measurements

Well, here's what I got from my latest 5 lbs. So weird how it's different every time.

While I'm glad some went to my hips that's still a lot on my waist! And I'm glad it disappeared from my neck again. =) I could have sworn more went to my booty than that.. seriously, I feel a big difference. oh wells. =)

Here's how my percentages have been growing.



And I was 168 today, so I'm at 31 lbs up now. wow And ya know today, I can feel myself gaining. I don't know if I really can feel it or what, but I get this feeling sometimes, like I feel bloated or it's almost a tingling and I feel myself expanding ever so slightly. I swear I feel it today. I wouldn't be surprised if I hit another high weight tomorrow.... maybe this oil is way more effective than I thought.. hmmm

Still not chubby though!

Oh I also wanted to mention that where I measure at my armpits.. that is so weird. My chest actually isn't getting bigger there.. or maybe a little.. its mostly under my arm pits where I'm getting fat. My mom has that. ugh! I wish you got to choose where you want it to go. I would give myself the most sexy pear shape ever..ha

Week 19, Day 3: 168! thank you olive oil

Well, I've been doing really good with upping my monounsaturated fats and lowering my carbs. Some people have requested to know what I eat in a day so I'll do yesterday for ya. =)

Morning:
1 glazed donut
1 choc chip cookie
1 glass of soymilk

Lunch:
1 Salad w/mediterranean dressing (lots of olive oil)
1 peanut butter sandwich
1 tall glass of soymilk
2 servings of Italian bread dipped in olive oil (w/spices)
1 hot green tea (no sugar or cream)

Dinner:
1 spicy black bean burger w/cheese, mustard and jalepenos
1 glass of soymilk
2 servings of Italian bread dipped in olive oil (w/spices)
1/2 serving of skittles

**I also drank some straight peanut oil.. about 240 calories worth

I know, it doesn't seem like I ate that much. That's what I thought too. And I took a big nap in the middle of the day so I really only ate 2 meals. But I was a pound heavier this morning! My heaviest yet! I think its because the oil is sooo heavy in calories I actually ate more calories than usual, but it just doesn't seem like it.

My weight gain by month!

I have to admit looking at this. I'm proud of myself. I did what I wanted to do and I found the courage to do even more. =) Feels good.

Can Diet Effect Fat Distribution?

I've been kinda wondering about this and looking up articles and it seems like genetics and hormones have the biggest impact on fat distribution, but diet may have an impact as well.

The studies I read seemed to deal with people with diabetes so to be honest, I'm not sure if this applies to those who don't have diabetes, but I did learn that there is two types of body fat.

Visceral Fat is the fat that tends to store around the organs of the body so this is in the abdominal and tummy region. So this contributes more to apple shape.
Subcutaneous Fat is fat that lies just under the skin. I'm guessing this is the fat that feels softer and is located more in areas like hips, thighs, arms, etc... so this contributes more to pear shape.



Visceral fat, I understand, is also worse for you because it is linked to disease more. Sooo that's not cool.

I seem to be getting more visceral fat than subcutaneous fat, and I would like to change that as much as possible. I enjoy the subcutaneous fat much more! Well, according to the studies, a high monosaturated fat diet is linked with more subcutaneous fat distribution and high-card diets are more linked with the apple-shape, visceral fat type stuff.

Well, I'm guessing most of my gaining was on carbs.. especially candy..heh and bread and rice. If I could lower my carbs a bit and add more monosaturated fat.. which is more olive oil I think, I'll be better off and plus it will be interesting to see if my distribution starts to change. That would be pretty neat. =)

So anyway, my plan is to identify some foods/meals that are high in monosaturated fat and some that are high in carbs so I can alter my diet to fit this plan. For example, I think salad is going to be a good pick. Lots of olive oil can be used in the dressing, and there won't be many carbs. High protein foods with lots of oil will probably be good too. Basically, I'll probably need to oil like everything ever.. heh

This could be fun though.

Well, co-workers are noticing!

Yah, it's confirmed. You can't really gain 30 lbs when you're skinny and expect people not to notice. One of my co-workers asked me today if I'm trying to gain weight. I guess my telling people I was doing it on purpose spread around for her to ask that right? So I told her yep, I'm gaining and that I gained 30 lbs so far. She said she noticed it in my belly! lol Yah, there is a lot there..heh

Also, another co-worker told me he couldn't tell. I don't know if he was being nice or not. He is a really nice type of boy.

I do wish the weight would spread out more though and not go mostly to my belly. I found a study on fat distribution being effected by what foods you eat. I'm going to research that more. Could be something to try! Use my diet to put more weight in my hips. Sounds fun. =) Well, latas.. have a great day =)

Well, I'm officially 30 lbs heavier. Dang that took a long time! My body's been fighting me lately I swear. It's been really hard to gain or even eat a lot, but I'm not the type to give up so I'm still chuggin. =)

Reached a new high of 167 lbs. Just 3 lbs away from 170. whoa

That's also another month of gaining. I started August 1st. I guess that's 4 months so far, 30 lbs. That's a pretty good rate right? I don't want to go super fast or anything.

Day 2: 138 lbs
Day 6: 139 lbs (1 week)
Day 9: 140 lbs
Day 10: 142 lbs

Day 15: 144 lbs (2 weeks)
Day 22: 145 lbs (3 weeks)
Day 29: 148 lbs (4 weeks)
Day 36: 151 lbs (5 weeks)
Day 45: 152 lbs (6 weeks)

Day 48: 155 lbs
Day 63: 156 lbs (9 weeks)
Day 68: 157 lbs *1st goal reached!
Day 69: 158 lbs (10 weeks)
Day 77: 159 lbs (11 weeks)

Day 87: 160 lbs (12 weeks)
Day 90: 161 lbs
Day 91: 163 lbs (13 weeks)
Day 101: 164 lbs (14 weeks)
Day 107: 166 lbs (15 weeks)

Day 125: 167 lbs (17 weeks)

And yummm.. totally ate at an Indian buffet for lunch. My boss bought cuz I've been doing good lately. =)



Oh, and I did my measurements by the way, but then was back down to 165 the next day so I'm going to wait until I'm 167 or higher 3 days in a row like normal, and redo them. I could tell too. They weren't as significant as usual sooo stay tuned. Those will be coming out soon.
