I don't know that I'm excited about this but Chrissie saw my first stretch marks the other day and pointed them out. I didn't believe they were stretch marks at first, but they are symmetrical soooo... yah, stretch marks.
You would think they would be on my belly or booty or something, but they are on my legs just on the insides of my legs next to my knees, but up an inch. I've definitely gained there. My legs are thick there. Probably why I can feel it so much when I bend my knees and sit on my feet. Strange. It's ugly though so I moisturized my entire body with olive oil this morning..lol Feels so good! Don't know why more people don't do it honestly.
I'll put a pic up here in this entry eventually.

The olive oil must have been wonderful.
yah, guess so =)
So... stretch marks. I would imagine it's one of those "Eh... not so sure about this" moments combined with a "YAY - I'm definitely entering into "chubby" territory now" feeling.
I know you're diggin' on the EVOO as a moisturizer, but have you tried Shea's Cocoa Butter? It's a thicker moisturizer, and it's typically recommended as a help for stretch marks. (As an added plus, it smells super yummy. You'll want to take a bite of yourself!) : )
Give it a try - I think they sell tiny bottles of it in CVS, Walgreens, etc.
hmmmm maybe i'll try it.. thanks
stretch marks are permanant right? is there any way to get rid of them if you want to?
Yes the stretch marks are permanent. but depending on where they are ect and your body, they will tend to fade over time, but never completely. Indeed the shea butter and coco butter will help prevent them but once you have them they are yours to keep.
YYG,
Vitamin E gel caps have been used on scars (like knee surgery scars, etc.) and I've heard that they also work wonders for fading stretch marks. It might be worth trying.
I think you can buy vitamin E oil or lotions. But you can also just buy the caps and poke a hole in them and rub that oil on your stretch marks after a warm shower.
Actually you can rid yourself of stretch marks using certain acids to burn away the scarring and then applying a copper peptide which speeds tissue regeneration. It works very well.
hm interesting.. haven't heard of that.. is it expensive?
I just came across your blog again after finding it months ago. I'm glad to read you've switched your fat intake over to monounsaturated rather than saturated. Fats behave exactly the same way inside and out of bodies- saturated fats clogging organs and amassing around the stomach, unsaturated fats flowing freely.
Shifting to a vegan diet several months ago, I've certainly noticed the effects of consuming unsaturated over saturated fat. I ended up losing some weight at the start until I went back home from school during winter break. After pigging out for a month I've gained it back, only in different areas. My stomach's still leaner than before, but my ass is a good deal bigger, as a few of my now snug pants can attest.
I have stretch marks on my thighs, too. I never put anything on them, but they've been there for years, so mostly faded by now.
Just putting in my opinion in case it's underrepresented: I think stretch marks are sexy.
motipet.. that's awesome you switched to a vegan diet! Why did you do that? I miss being vegan sometimes.. even though i still eat vegan probably half the time.
I do plan to go vegan again at some point this year. =) gaining weight and trying to be vegan at the same time is expensive though i found..heh
Kind of curious how the appointment with the plastic surgeon went since you mentioned it a while back.
